About the Institution
Birbhum Zilla School was established on December 9, 1851. It faced a temporary closure during the Santal Insurrection of 1856. The school's official designation was changed to Birbhum Zilla School in 1878. The institution has an active alumni association, "Praktani," and remains a premier institution in Suri, Birbhum.
