Bogura Zilla School is one of the oldest high schools in Bangladesh, established in 1853. Initially a private English-medium institution, it transitioned to governmental management through the efforts of Magistrate Mr. Russell. Babu Bhagabati Charan Ghosh served as its first headmaster. The school celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2005 and has a long tradition of rewarding students for excellence.
