Jashore Zilla School was established on February 3, 1838. Founded during British rule, it is recognized as one of the oldest schools in Bengal. It began with 132 students in the bungalow of a local duchess and later acquired 7.8 acres in Khadki. Originally known as Jessore Model School, it was renamed in 1872. The establishment involved significant financial support from local landlords like Prince Dwarkanath Tagore.
